This grant supports UNCF in scaling up an initiative aimed at increasing student success outcomes at 8 to 12 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The work will increase these institutions’ capacity to serve low-income students and students of color, increasing academic and economic equity for both groups and producing best practices to inform other under-resourced colleges serving low-income students or students of color.
Collective Impact Fund Advancing Good Jobs and Inclusive Economic and Talent Development

This grant supports America Achieves in providing technical assistance and funder matchmaking to a cohort of regional coalitions as they advance entrepreneurial economic development, good jobs and economic mobility, particularly for rural areas and underrepresented groups.
College and Student Success in Rural Communities
Validation
This grant supports the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Student Success Through Applied Research Lab in completing an analysis of demographic shifts in rural communities and college enrollment trends in rural places facing the greatest demographic shifts. This research will uncover new insights into rural college opportunity and access and will help education leaders and other stakeholders identify practical ways colleges can successfully navigate and respond to these increasing demographic challenges.
College Promise Careers Institute & Expanding Ecosystems for Promise Student Support

This grant supports the College Promise Campaign in expanding their efforts to build awareness of supports for specific College Promise student populations and their work focused on elevating the role of postsecondary education in addressing workforce and economic development needs.

Commission on the Effectiveness of Higher Education Behind Bars in New England

This grant supports the New England Board of Higher Education in convening a commission of key postsecondary and corrections decisionmakers in New England to address systemic challenges limiting the efficiency, quality and impact of postsecondary education delivered within the region's prisons. The commission will produce concrete recommendations and develop the blueprint for establishing a regional coordinating entity to support collaboration and alignment of postsecondary pathways across the region.
Community College Doctoral Program Redesign

This grant supports the University of Maryland Global Campus in developing a new doctoral program in community college leadership. The program curriculum will be comprehensive and innovative, designed in collaboration with influential community college stakeholders and thought leaders.
Community College Growth Engine Fund Expansion

This grant supports Education Design Lab (The Lab) in deploying the Community College Growth Engine Fund with two community college systems. The Lab will support the design and pilot of employer-validated micro-pathways to connect low-income learners to economic mobility.
Community Colleges as Apprenticeship Intermediaries: Learning What Works

This grant supports New America Foundation in exploring the role of apprenticeship intermediaries. New America will conduct research to identify effective community college apprenticeship intermediaries and offer policy and practice recommendations for community colleges to scale this strategy.
