As Ascendium’s Education Philanthropy team plans for 2022, they are setting ambitious goals to grow our grantmaking and increase the impact our partners have on the lives of learners from low-income backgrounds. This includes adding two new roles and inviting those with an interest in making a difference in the lives of these learners to apply for a position on our growing and evolving team.

In November, Erika Foster joined the team as a program coordinator, providing critical administrative and logistical support to the Education Grantmaking team. Erika transitioned from Ascendium’s Repayment Solutions division, where she served as a default aversion supervisor and supported team members in developing their knowledge and skills at Ascendium.

Ashley Parker also joined the team in November as an associate program officer. In this new role, Ashley supports the Education Grantmaking team in advancing focus area strategies that support learners from low-income backgrounds. Ashley previously worked as a community engagement associate at GPS Education Partners, serving on their fund development team.

“To help meet our ambitious goals for 2022, I’m thrilled that we found two exceptional colleagues to fill new positions on the team — the program coordinator and associate program officer,” said Keith Witham, deputy director - education grantmaking. “Both roles will add critical capacity to our team, supporting our ability to increase the volume of our grantmaking, better support our grantee partners and design and implement large-scale initiatives targeting the most persistent barriers to success for low-income learners.”
