Kirstin is a program officer at Ascendium. She is responsible for strategic grantmaking in support of Ascendium’s Rural Education and Workforce Training focus area, which seeks to expand education and workforce training opportunities for rural learners. She joined the organization in 2017.
Previously, she was a community impact manager at Higher Expectations for Racine County, a collective impact partnership located in Racine, Wisconsin. She has also held positions with the Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, D.C. and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago. Outside of Ascendium, Kirstin is co-chair of 100+ Women Who Care-Milwaukee and is a member of the Near West Side Partners Housing Team in Milwaukee.
Raised in the Chicago suburbs, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish Language from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago.
