Upskilling: A Pathway to Economic Advancement for Early Career Tech Workers
This report shares findings from an assessment of Per Scholas’ Career Accelerator upskilling program. The program offers a variety of short-format, career pathways-aligned upskilling courses designed to fit into the busy lives of working professionals. A research team examined wage and career outcomes for more than 17,000 individuals, finding that after controlling for learner and program characteristics, alumni who completed instructor-led upskilling through the program earned an average of $4,264 more per year than those who didn’t participate in the program. The report also includes recommendations for stakeholders interested in maximizing the impact of upskilling initiatives.
