Maggie Fay is a Senior Learning and Impact Officer. She leads research grantmaking and supports strategic learning for Ascendium’s Support Learner Success strategy, which focuses on redesigning postsecondary education and workforce training programs around learners’ needs and strengthening systems of academic and non-academic support to help them succeed. She joined the organization in 2025.
Previously, Maggie worked for 13 years at Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers College, Columbia University. At CCRC, she conducted research to improve postsecondary outcomes for community college students, including studies on guided pathways reforms, transfer, dual enrollment, and developmental education reform. She has also held positions with the Research Alliance for New York City Schools and New York University’s Office of the Provost Diversity Initiative.
Maggie earned a Ph.D. in sociology from City University of New York Graduate Center, a master’s degree in higher education from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and Spanish from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
